For Immediate Release : Danagger Audio announces new upgradeable Plan B model

Danagger Audio Works has announced a new entry level version of its popular Plan B dead air prevention unit. The Plan B Basic is designed for stations who want the Plan B's superior silence detection, audio switching, monitoring, remote control and notification capabilities for use with an external backup program source.
Users can connect an analog or digital backup STL, automation server, satellite receiver, etc. to the Plan B Basic. The system will respond to silence detected on the main program line by activating and switching to the backup feed after a user-set delay. Station personnel are notified by an integrated voice remote control, which also has four DC inputs and four relay outputs for interfacing to external equipment.
“We wanted to give the station with simpler needs a tidy all-in-one solution.” says Rob Robson, Danagger's head of design. “The Plan B Basic is a professional, reliable alternative to having a string of separate boxes, and it can be upgraded at any time”.
The Plan B Basic can also be used to make emergency phone-to-air live announcements. A special password allows emergency personnel to interrupt programming to issue local public safety warnings, even if studio facilities are damaged or inaccessible. The feature can be remotely enabled or disabled for security purposes.
The Plan B Basic shares many features with the fully equipped model, including built in monitor speakers and headphone jack, dial up listen line for both sources, internal universal power supply, compact rack mount aluminum chassis, and three year warranty. The unit is also fully upgradeable should users decide to add the features of the Plan B Classic at a later time, like HDD or Compact Flash audio storage, event logging, remote playlist management, email alarm notification and web accessibility.
