For Immediate Release: new emergency access feature for Plan B models
(September 18, 2005)
Danagger Audio Works, maker of the Plan B™ family of dead air prevention devices, has announced the availability of an upgrade to add its emergency announcement feature to many existing Plan B systems. Currently standard on all new Plan B Deluxe and Deluxe Plus models, the feature allows users to call the unit and make a live voice announcement directly to air. “We wanted to give more stations the ability to serve their local communities with emergency public service announcements.” says Rob Robson, Danagger's president and head of design. “Having a Plan B unit with this option at the transmitter site means that emergency services can get the word out through local stations even if their studios are damaged or inaccessible”. The password protected feature can be added to many existing Plan B and Plan B Plus units with only an US$85 field installable upgrade. Plan B owners are urged to use the factory's toll free number (1-888 892-8346) to determine whether their systems can be upgraded by this method. Earlier systems will require a factory retrofit at additional cost.
The Plan B Silence Eliminator is a patented, self-contained dead air prevention system for digital and analog program paths. The Plan B Deluxe can provide daypart-specific replacement audio from CD/DVD, hard drive, Compact Flash or USB storage devices. A “Plus” option also allows backup audio to be injected from a secondary digital or analog program source. The system notifies users of alarm conditions via telephone and email, and a web interface provides remote control, monitoring, audio upload and cut management functions.
